What is the difference between pentecostal and jehovah witness

Read John As far as where in the Bible the trinity is mentioned you can take your pick. OT would be Genesis NT John Or 2nd Corinthians A Christian is defined in the dictionary as one who professes to believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. There are 3 who bear witness in heaven and these three are one…. John 1. JW followers , it does not take much to see why Jesus Christ was crucified.

You can do your doctrinal gymnastics as much as you try but this truth is clear. Either Jesus was who he claimed to be or he was the greatest deceiver of all time. I am well aware of how JW have mis translated scripture as pointed out by the greatest Hebrew and Greek scholars of the past number of decades. You have a false gospel and a translation that is not true to biblical interpretation. I personally have talked to many JW and they all do the same thing when you point them to a passage of scripture in context and they immediately take you to their particular scriptures and take them completely out of context.

It would be to many here to number all the false teaching of JW , doctrine , but your denial of who Jesus really is , the Son of the living God , creator of heaven and earth, Lord and God over all. That is what stands between heaven and hell for all men and women. And Elohim said Let us make man in our image.

The Hebrew clearly indicates the word Elohim to be more than plural, but triune. It is in the very first chapter of the very first book of the bible, right before your eyes. Indeed, the trinity is clearly shown here. How is it that one attempts to contemplate the greatness of our God? Is Yahweh human? No, alien by definition. The heresy here, is believing the true Son of Almighty God to be of equality of one of His very own creations, an Angel.

Where in the scriptures does it say that the Christ is the archangel Michael? One God, who loved us enough to wrap Himself in sinful flesh to take upon Himself the penalty of Our sins, that we do not have to pay for them. They use a religious based magazine called The Watchtower and other WBTS publications as much or more than the actual bible.

I have lots more and I am sure about this religion and others I have studied and I now consider myself Agnostic. And yes, I am a former JW. You are a pagan, i guarantee that you were never a JW. Let me strike a point or two no wiggle. How are you supposed to lead others to Jehovah by yelling at them.

For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? He never accused anyone, and tells us about judging others. So with that said, you have sinned at least three times against another man, that would take away all your wiggle room away.

How dare you to believe that you are the only people being persecuted and then persecute us yourself. You have shown nothing but hate so far and then call on the name of Jesus. You believe that the way through salvation is knocking on peoples doors, which I have done as a JW and as a Christian. You come to my house, and I answer and I allow you to speak about your beliefs. As soon as I speak about my beliefs you want to leave.

Again you came to my house, I was hospitable enough to let you in and listen. Should I not be able to say something in my house about Jesus. If I am confused you will know if you hear me out.

Here is the problem, in your own confusion all three or four of you in my house wont let me get a word in. Are you scared that what might be said may cause you to have a change of heart. That hearing the truth may set you free. You say that our Bible written by 40 authors inspired by God is written by pagans.

I believe that every person that wrote a book or so in the bible were sinners, and some were big sinners. The translations today are translations made to a modern language spoken today. The English language changes and so the bible is translated for better understanding, same as yours. The difference is the translators make themselves known so we can check their references on their ability to translate Greek or Hebrew to English.

Take this as my starting point John the NWT makes reference to two Gods, read it and dispute it if you can, but it clearly states you recognize gods.

It ends saying the word was a god. Explain it, you either believe according to your translation that this means there is more than one God. Or it can only have one other possible response which is misinterpreted that Jesus and God are one and the same. No other possible explanation, sorry. That is a plain bold faced hypocritical lie. As a former witness I had friends that were gang bangers, fornicators, thieves, liars, cheats, killers, spouse abusers, adulterers and so on, meeting with me at the Kingdom Hall on Wednesday and Sunday.

Because that is what I guess your Jesus said to do or your bible translates forgiveness this way. The Jesus I read about in your book and my Bible just kept walking towards Jerusalem forgiving people. I went to a Baptist church and immediately got saved. I am now a minister of the one true God, you have every opportunity to repent of your sins and come to know and have fellowship with the son, Jesus Christ. Come and visit us first, listen to the word given us by Gods inspiration.

Pray with us as we will pray for you. Susan DeMone— I read your comment with interest. They are a Sabbath keeping church that does not keep religious holidays with pagan backgrounds Christmas and Easter. They also believe in basing doctrine on the Bible alone; unlike the SDA church, there is no founding prophetess, special books, or anything like that.

It sounds like it might be a good fit for you. We should all remember we are all sinners and if you disagree do you really deserve to be called righteous. I would like to know who you are. I would like to speak with you and get a better and deeper understanding of what you were saying.

There is a JW that keeps calling me trying to persuade me. Some of what she says is confusing. I have been a Christian my entire life. Please help me. Yes u r now saved, totally unscriptual, u r comfortable now with no consequences, do what u want, sin how u want and your saved, really? Do the JW have a different Bible? Can any agree if we all have different bibles to study from?

These are the references saying Jesus is Jehovah. Exodus , , John , and a few more! So we have so many different religions! Everyone believes they are all correct. So what to do? Ask him are you ok? Ask him if you die today will he take you to heaven? I believe God loves us all. I believe he can talk to us and lead us all on the right path.

Some of my friends were addicted to drugs, not me because I was to afraid. When we prayed to God and accepted Jesus he came to live on the inside of me. He changed us all. My friends got off drugs only through prayer. As a teenager I lived in Mannheim Germany as my family was military. Our chaplain on base was Dutch Reformist, when he preached or when we sang I could feel Gods presence.

We then transferred to Ft Hood, Texas and we went to the Assembly of God then to a non denominational church. I felt Gods presence here also. We moved to Fl and I attended a baptist church and then went back to the AG church. I know he is able! I do believe what it says in Romans All things work together for good to those who love God and called according to his purpose. If u have time pls ask God to heal me and to help me to not be afraid! Thank you! Jesus loves you and he has a plan for all of us!

Hi Peggy, I am a Christian who have struggled with acknowledging the Trinity. Is he speaking to himself?

Is he speaking to his father, God? Scripture says that Jesus sits on the right hand of God. I was raised Baptist and I still am.

I believe that God spoke to me to let me know that I have a personal relationship with him. I tell people that everything is tangible which mean that we will be able to see, touch, and feel the Glory of God when he is ready to reveal himself to mankind.

We humans will know everything in time. The time may not be now, but it will happen some day. My beliefs are my own and personal with God. I am a Christian who have struggled with acknowledging the Trinity. Hope you are okay and healthy… just read your post, praying for you and sending you love.. Stevenage, England. Jehovah witnesses are on point … All but the Sabbath!!!

Prob …the most important of all!! Sabbath is the seal of GOD…. We cannot possibly begin to comprehend God. Who are you or anyone else to question who He is? Why would God create an angel to create everything else? And only a perfect sacrifice could have been a replacement for our sin and only God Himself is perfect. And While your Bible has been changed to suit your beliefs the translagie forgot to change Revelation and following.

Who said they were coming quickly? The same words God spoke. They were judgemental. And not allowing a member to research outside of their religion tells me something else is at play. What are you afraid of them finding out? The truth? First of all people, Charles Taze Russel is not the founder of a new religion as most of you guys think. At that time, a small group of Bible students who lived near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the United States, began a systematic analysis of the Bible.

They compared the doctrines taught by the churches with what the Bible really teaches. Among that group of sincere Bible students was a man named Charles Taze Russell. While Russell took the lead in the Bible education work at that time and was the first editor of The Watchtower, he was not the founder of a new religion.

The goal of Russell and the other Bible Students, as the group was then known, was to promote the teachings of Jesus Christ and to follow the practices of the first-century Christian congregation. Since Jesus is the Founder of Christianity, we view him as the founder of our organization.

We believe that Jesus, is the son of God. The question is: who is he praying to? To himself? Since he is the God himself? No, he was praying to someone and that is his father the almighty Jehovah. We believe that Jesus is the King, the passage, the way of our prayers. We never thought Jesus as an unimportant perfect being. He further claimed that the old scrolls had been misinterpreted and he set about rewriting the Bible.

Jelfs, under cross examination was handed an Antient Greek text. He then admitted that he could neither recognize or read Greek or Antient Hebrew. They very quickly agree that Jehovah does not want any created being to be worshipped according to the First and Second Commandments. None of them seem to accept the authority of Jesus, the Son of God, as being Almighty. They deny that Jesus has been given all judgement of mankind, that he can forgive sin, be the Bread of Life and the Resurrection and be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

AMEN to the above comment!!!! Did you go to public schools, is your drivers License from the DMV, does your mail go through the post office, do you pay taxes, do you or someone you know receive social security, do you bank at an FDIC bank?

If your answer is yes to any of these, you are involved in government. In fact it is part of the problem of this country. Laws are being passed for homosexual marriages, legalized drugs, freedom to carry guns, and freedom to have abortions. Must be the diehard Christians fault that is supporting what Jehovah says about these things.

Then support that, you only know what you are being told. No one knows that day and according to scripture no-one will. Does the bible say that around the beginning of the end started, ah no. You can note one act of kindness and say we are doing the service of God.

We feed the hungry, we have helped a women move her home that had to be out by the end of the day and had no help. I visit the old peoples homes, I have knocked on visitors to the churches door to evangelize. Which causes me to ask this question why does everyone that is a Witness have to do road work? You may not know about the gifts of the Spirit, because you probably skip that part. And why are you still yelling?

It says the same thing in your translation too I checked. Even further verse 7 says if you men had known me, you would have known my Father also from this moment on you know Him and have seen Him.

What does that mean you ask? It means if you have seen me, known me, walked with me, talked with me and prayed to me then you have also done so with God. He and the Father are one and the same. I am sure you have some irrational explanation what your own Bible says. I do not need a watchtower or any of the doctrinal books used in the Kingdom hall or house. Listening to the Great Teacher, the pink Book, right? Yeah I know, I am not pretending you are. God says the bible is what you need to know it teaches about everything, the gift of the Holy spirit left here for us to help us learn and discern is what you need.

Not unknown with no credential authors of a periodical who are fallible. I dont celebrate holidays. And Yes, some are rude, mean, belittle people, lie, steal, cheat. You know how I know? Second, I know about a of them. Case closed on that. I agree with with you,Amen!!! Continue to give God the praises. Let the JW keep reading there comic watchtower books. Ok well let me explain this from a reasoning veiwpoint without using the hated name Jehovah.

You say that because that because Charles Taze Russell started this religion that it was a man made religion. We have the Catholic Church that says its leader was Jesus but say that the apostle Peter was the first pope. A MAN! Temptations aim to mislead and pervert three main human characteristics; to think, wish and feel which are inside mind, soul and heart as Jesus alludes in Greatest Commandment.

Who is the God of Jehovah Witness? How many times can you get baptized? They do claim to be Christian, but the reason I use the label reconstructionist sect is that they believe they are the only true Christian church, and that the rest of Christianity has become corrupt. Their organization is not based on historical Christianity but on new revelation through their prophetic publications, which have in turn guided them in the creation of a special translation of Scripture fixing what they claim to be the issues with other translations.

Pentecostalism, on the other hand, is known as a "renewal" movement. Although they have many doctrines that are distinct from the rest of Christianity, they don't claim that the rest of Christianity is totally devoid of truth. Rather than starting from scratch, they only seek to revise things a bit. Although it is a fairly new movement, dating from just the early 's, it has grown and taken many different shapes.

Not being centrally organized, it's harder to pin any specific doctrines to Pentecostalism as it is easy to do with the JWs because their beliefs are so precise and centrally dictated. They use the same Bible translations as other Protestants but certainly have a unique spin on some aspects of it. There are some similarities in the early roots of Pentecostalism. One of several main roots of the movement can be traced through the Foursquare Church.

Although that particular church has since taken a bit more moderate approach, its beginnings are tied up in the affairs of one Aimee Semple McPherson and her teachings, "healing ministry," and other extensive influence. Because it has many roots, and later many branches, the Pentecostal movement is not as organized or definable as a sect, but it does have some characteristic teachings such as an emphasis on continued revelation, spiritual gifts, miraculous healings, and so on. On the other hand, the JW doctrine tends to be much more concrete.

They believe in various specific end times predictions some of which have morphed as dates come and go , and are very precise about things like terms of service to the church, doing good deeds, and so on. In summary, while they both began at roughly the same time and some parallels could be drawn in the way they first started, they are completely different entities.

Early on they were driven by very different influences, and they have become very different beasts. Their teachings bear little resemblance to each other, and many of their teachings are mutually exclusive.

For one thing, Jehovah's Witnesses teach that the Watchtower literature is the most accurate interpretation of scripture, while Pentecostals believe in scripture being relevant to modern life without having to rely on the leadership of a church to lead them; the Jehovah's Witnesses believe in "divine guidance" that allows them to claim that certain parts of scripture are poorly translated or inaccurate. There are major soteriological differences: Pentecostals basically believe that faith alone is sufficient for salvation, often but not always including baptism in the Holy Spirit, while Jehovah's Witnesses have a doctrine that requires works for salvation to prove that their faith is genuine.

In addition, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that we are in the end times making various apocalyptic predictions that haven't seemed to come true , while Pentecostals don't really have a defined statement on that as a larger movement. Jehovah's Witnesses are a sect, and Pentecostalism is a movement. I attended a Pentecostal church, and they were relatively midline for Pentecostals, but there was no real organization that they were a part of; meanwhile, the Jehovah's Witnesses have a hierarchy and direct leadership.

You may find individual Pentecostal movements that have different beliefs, or incorporated beliefs of other sects, but as a general rule they are not related to the Jehovah's Witnesses, who predate them. Massive differences. On the outside, the Jehovah's Witness organization appears to be a regular Christian church.
